What is Go?

Elegantly simple. Profoundly deep. Go (Chinese: weiqi; Japanese: igo; Korean: baduk) is an ancient game of strategy for all ages. It is played by millions of people and is regarded as an excellent means of mental and personal cultivation.

Who Are We?

The Toronto Go Club welcomes players of all levels, especially beginners, and meets on Sunday afternoons. Our goal is to spread the word about this amazing game, teach beginners, play, and of course have fun!

Time and Location

Club meetings take place on Sundays from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM at The 519 (Church Street Community Centre). Check with the front desk to find out what room we're meeting in. For commuting info, visit our Location page. Meetings are free, but you're encouraged to register in the Canadian Go Association! (also free). For more information, contact johnny@torontogoclub.org or just stop by the club!

Occasionally we have to cancel meetings because of other events in the community centre or other go related events we support around the city, so check out the News and Events or have a look at the calendar to be sure we're meeting. Even better, send an email to torontogoclub+subscribe@googlegroups.com to join the mailing list.

Cancelled Meetings

The Toronto Go Club will not be meeting during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Online Meetings

The Lawrence Park Go School and Club, and the University of Toronto Go Club have resumed their meetings online.
